Whilst in the shelter, guests will be offered a bed, warmth, food and access to bathroom facilities. The shelter is an alcohol and drug free project (dry house) and any persons under the influence will not be permitted to enter the shelter. Whilst at the shelter, guests must adhere to strict conditions of stay. Guests must leave the Night Shelter premises by 8.30 am. The staff at the Night Shelter will provide guests with information of other available services they may be able to access in accordance with their needs. Who can use the shelter? The shelter can be accessed by male and female clients who are over 16 years of age and have no other available accommodation that they could access. Consideration will be given to clients who are escaping violence or abuse or who have experienced a relationship breakdown and can not return to their home. What would I expect at the shelter? The shelter is manned by two staff at all times with an additional on call system in place. The shelter operates to strict conditions of stay that guests must adhere to. If guests disregard conditions they will be asked to leave and potentially banned from further using the project. The shelter is a dry shelter, i.e. no one under the influence of alcohol or drugs can access. Guests are required to show respect for staff, other guests, neighbouring residents and property. There are currently 5 bed spaces provided by way of 3 bedrooms, 2 twins and 1 single. We are in the process of modifying provision with the aim of providing 5 separate bed spaces. Guests will be given food, a bed and clean bedding and access to bathroom facilities. SignpostingStaff will provide guests with information and promotional literature of other services available throughout the county and will arrange for appointments to be made on request.
